Title
Resolution establishing the Seventh District Community Fund and authorizing contributions and expenditures from it.
Analysis
This resolution establishes a Seventh District Community Fund within the Office of the Common Council - City Clerk. Expenditures will be directed by the Seventh District Alderperson for the purpose of strengthening the Seventh District community.
Body
Whereas, Section 304-24 of the Code of Ordinances provides for the establishment of contribution funds; and
Whereas, Community members in the Seventh Aldermanic District may wish to contribute funds towards community events and improvements within the District; and
Whereas, The Office of the Common Council - City Clerk seeks an avenue to be able to accept donations and allow for transparency of receipt and expenditure of the funds; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Seventh District Community Fund is created in the Office of the Common Council - City Clerk; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Clerk’s Office is authorized to accept donations to the Fund; and, be it
Further Resolved, That upon receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is directed to establish a special account within the budget for the expenditure of the contributions; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is directed to transfer appropriations and estimated revenue from the General Fund Contribution Appropriation Control account, number 0001-2110-006300-D001, and the Estimated Revenue account for contributions, number 001-2100-009850, to the to the Clerk’s Office Contribution Account 0001-1310-006300-0001-DXXX, titled “Contributions - Seventh District Community Fund”, and Estimated Revenue account 0001-1310-009850 for the purposes set forth in this resolution; and, be it
