This ordinance, effective January 1, 1998, establishes the board of zoning appeals and staff as a separate, independent budget control unit.
BODY:
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 295-59-3 of the code is amended to read:
295-59. Board of Appeals.
3. >>BOARD BUDGET AND<< STAFF. The board >>shall constitute a separate, independent budget control unit in city government and<< may employ a secretary and other employes. The board may designate one of its members who shall be licensed to practice law in the state of Wisconsin, as its administrative officer to perform administrative functions pursuant to the directions of the board and to draft decisions, findings and orders for consideration by the board.
Part 2. This ordinance takes effect January 1, 1998.
