Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Fire Department (MFD) to enter into an agreement with Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) for Practicum Placement for Emergency Management Services (EMS) Training. It is to the mutual interest and advantage of both the entities that the students of the Paramedic Technician Program of the MATC be given the opportunity to supplement academic preparation for the practice of their profession with practicum placement provided by the Milwaukee Fire Department. The parties agree that by working together they will be contributing to the development of a highly qualified pool of EMS providers.

Body

Whereas, The MFD has a long standing relationship with MATC as our Paramedic training center. MATC trains all of the MFD fire cadets in paramedicine and provides support of MFD efforts in EMT training. This agreement solidifies our partnership, officially providing the capacity for the MFD to utilize paramedic ambulances as clinical sites in the training of EMS professionals who can further aid the residents of the city of Milwaukee; and

Whereas, the Milwaukee Fire Department and MATC agree that by working together they will be contributing to the development of a highly qualified pool of EMS providers; and

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the attached agreement between the City of Milwaukee Fire Department and Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) for Practicum Placement for Emergency Management Services (EMS) Training with practicum placement provided by the Milwaukee Fire Department, and subject to such changes as the City Attorney may approve in negotiation with Milwaukee Area Technical Co...
