Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council File 040608 relative to acceptance and expenditure of contributions received by the Milwaukee Health Department for the Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) and AIDS/HIV Program.

Body
Whereas, The Common Council adopted File Number 960768 on September 24, 1996, a resolution authorizing the Health Department to accept and expend private donations up to $5,000 for the purpose of providing STD medications; and

Whereas, The Common Council adopted File Number 031211 on January 21, 2004, a resolution amending File Number 960768 to permit the Health Department to accept and expend an additional $5,500 for this purpose; and

Whereas, The Common Council adopted File Number 040608 on September 21, 2004, a resolution amending File Number 031211 to permit the Health Department to accept and expend an additional $20,000 for this purpose; and

Whereas, The Health Department anticipates receiving an additional $150,000 from various organizations and/or foundations for the expenditures related to the STD and AIDS/HIV Program; and

Whereas, This resolution will enable the Health Department to continue to accept contributions from the Wisconsin AIDS Walk through the AIDS Resource Center and other donations to fund the Health Department’s Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) and AIDS/HIV Program throughout the City of Milwaukee; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Health Department is authorized to accept an additional $150,000 of contributions for the department’s STD and AIDS/HIV Program and to expend such funds for this purpose or any purpose spe...
