Analysis
This resolution authorizes the sale of a surplus, vacant, tax-deed lot.
Body
Whereas, Common Council File No. 971122 adopted on November 25, 1997, authorized the Department of City Development ("DCD") to advertise 3955 West Blue Mound Road, Tax Key No. 402-0202-110-9, via the open listing method with an asking price of $7,000; and
 
Whereas, Said lot was advertised on many occasions and no bids were received; and
 
Whereas, The adjoining owners, Lisa L. Simon and Jeanette A. Riley, with their property located at 3943 West Blue Mound Road, have submitted an Offer to Purchase said lot in the amount of $4,907.50 for use as green space; and
 
Whereas, DCD recommends acceptance of said Offer to Purchase due to the unlikelihood of new construction at this site; and
 
Whereas, Said lot is being sold in an "as is" condition and the City makes no representations as to soil or subsurface conditions; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that said Offer to Purchase is accepted, that the proper City officials are authorized and directed to perform such acts as necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution with the proceeds from sale, less a 15 percent disposition cost reimbursement to the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee, credited to the Reserve For Tax Deficit Fund Account No. 0001-334106.
