Analysis:

This resolution cancels a portion of the judgment rendered on behalf of the City of Milwaukee and against Lev & Ed, Inc. by the Kohn Law Firm.

Body:

Whereas, The Kohn Law Firm rendered a judgment on behalf of the City of Milwaukee and against Lev & Ed, Inc. on January 27, 2004, in the amount of $38,498.36, Milwaukee County Circuit Court Case No. 03-CV-008856 for real estate taxes at 2431 North 30^th Street, Tax Key No. 326-0501-110, pursuant to a stipulation signed by the parties' attorneys; and

Whereas, The stipulation and order provided that the judgment in full in the amount of $38,498.36 shall be satisfied by a settlement payment of $17,741.76, upon agreement by the Common Council by resolution; and

Whereas, The Kohn Law Firm has determined the assets of Lev & Ed, Inc. are depleted and that the settlement of the judgment is in the best interests of the City; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the judgment against Lev & Ed, Inc. be settled for $17,741.76 and that $13,843.40 of said judgment be and is hereby cancelled.
