Minutes note: BY ALD. GORDON--- by recommending approval of said motion. THE CLERK swore in the Court Reporter. NONRENEWAL OF THE CLASS "A" LIQUOR AND MALT LICENSE OF MIRZA S. BAIG FOR THE PREMISES AT 8703 W. FOND DU LAC AVENUE "BONANZA FOOD AND LIQUOR". NONRENEWAL OF THE CLASS "A" LIQUOR AND MALT LICENSE OF AHMAD R. SHAWAR FOR THE PREMISES AT 8333 W. MORGAN AVENUE "RATAS LIQUOR". RENEWAL WITH A 10 DAY SUSPENSION OF THE CLASS "B" TAVERN LICENSE OF PABLO MACIAS FOR THE PREMISES AT 1631 W. MITCHELL STREET, "LA Cascada". THE CHAIR questioned whether all members of the Common Council present at the meeting had read the report and recommendation of the Utilities and Licenses Committee and written exceptions, if filed, relative to the foregoing recommendations. A roll call vote showed the following results: Ayes: 16 - Ald. Pratt, D'Amato, Henningsen, Schramm, Johnson-Odom, Gordon, Frank, Richards, Butler, Scherbert, Witkowiak, Pawlinski, Breier, Nardelli, Murphy and President Kalwitz. Excused: 1 - Ald. Hines. THE CHAIR questioned whether Mirza Baig --- or his counsel was present. Mr. Mirza Baig and his counsel were present. ALD. WITKOWIAK moved to go into the Committee of the Whole. PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE Attorney Roland Steinle and Assistant City Attorney Bruce Schrimpf appeared and addressed the Committee relative to the foregoing matter. ALD. Schramm moved that the Committee do now rise. The motion prevailed. ALD. GORDON moved approval of the Committee's recommendation for nonrenewal. The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: -15- Ald. Pratt, D'Amato, Johnson-Odom, Gordon, Frank, Richards, Butler, Scherbert, Witkowiak, Pawlinski, Breier, Murphy, Hines and President Kalwitz. Excused: 2- Henningsen and Hines. THE CHAIR questioned whether Ahmad R. Shawar & Pablo Macias or their counsel were present. None were present. ALD. GORDON moved for approval of File 970877 including the application on which separate action was taken. The motion prevailed. Ayes: 16 - Ald.
