Title
Substitute resolution authorizing the transfer and expenditure of $12,500 from the Neighborhood Commercial District Street Improvement Fund for the East North Avenue Commercial District Enhancement Project, in the 3rd Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This substitute resolution approves the expenditure of $12,500 for the East North Avenue Commercial District Enhancement Project. The phase II street enhancements will include additional trash receptacles and other street amenities.
Body
Whereas, The Capital Budget for the City of Milwaukee (“City”) contains $12,500 in the Neighborhood Commercial District Street Improvement Fund; and
Whereas, The City has an ongoing commitment to the revitalization of neighborhood commercial districts; and
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee on September 23, 1997, by File No. 970779, created Business Improvement District No. 20 (East North Avenue) and approved its first year Operating Plan; and
Whereas, Business Improvement District No. 20 has worked collaboratively with area business owners to market and promote the commercial district; and
Whereas, These public way improvements will greatly enhance the East North Avenue Commercial District; and
Whereas, Business Improvement District No. 20 has identified project funds which match the amount of City funds for this project; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper City officials are authorized and directed to transfer $12,500 from the Neighborhood Commercial District Street Improvement Fund to the East North Avenue Commercial District Enhancement Project Account No. STO4083500; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller, in conjunction with the Commissioner of the Department of City Development, is authorized and directed to establish any and all subaccounts and follow the City guidelines...
