Analysis
This resolution proclaims the 13th Aldermanic District the Garden District of the City of Milwaukee because of the exceptional efforts of its residents in beautifying their district, examples of residential gardens, striking boulevard system, beautiful parks and green spaces, concentration of garden businesses and the role the district plays as a gateway to the city.

Body
Whereas, The residents of the 13th Aldermanic District pride themselves in doing an exceptional job in beautifying their neighborhoods with many exceptional examples of residential gardens; and

Whereas, Many commercial businesses landscape to maximize curb appeal and increase customer traffic; and,

Whereas, The 13th Aldermanic District is an area of the city with a visually striking boulevard system that contains a variety of trees and landscape beds; and

Whereas, The 13th Aldermanic District is home to a number of beautiful parks, parkways and other large well landscaped and cared for green spaces; and

Whereas, The 13th Aldermanic District has many garden centers and other gardening-related business establishments; and

Whereas, The area of the 13th Aldermanic District that surrounds the General Mitchell International Airport provides a beautiful and welcoming gateway to the City of Milwaukee for many visiting the city; and

Whereas, The 13th Aldermanic District is also a major transportation hub with easy access by train, bus and automobile in addition to plane; and

Whereas, The residents of the 13th Aldermanic District formed a Garden Committee to pursue district designation and developed a formalized plan to guide beautification activities; and
