Analysis

This resolution authorizes the settlement of the lawsuit of Brimmer, Bulah M.; Palmetto Government Benefits Adm., Medicare Parts A&B v. City of Milwaukee, Case No. 05-CV-004458 in the amount of $15,000.00

Body

Whereas, The plaintiff, Bulah Brimmer, has commenced a lawsuit against the city seeking damages of $50,000 for personal injuries sustained when she fell in the area of North 20th Street and West Wisconsin Avenue, on August 31, 2004; and

 

Whereas, Plaintiff’s injuries were serious and permanent in nature; and 

 

Whereas; A settlement favorable to all parties has been reached; and

 

Whereas, The City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to pay this verdict; now, therefore be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper City officers be and are hereby authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $15,000.00, payable to the client Trust Account of Attorney Kersten & McKinnon, in full and final settlement of this claim, upon receipt of a release of claim, approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney, said amount to be charged to the Damages and Claims Fund, Account No. 006300 0001 1490 2631 S118-2006.
