Analysis
Currently, there is no provision for replacing lost or stolen permits for residential daytime parking privilege for nonconforming residential uses, residential daytime parking privilege for commuter parking impacted areas or resident only parking permits. This ordinance allows permit holders whose permit has been lost or stolen to obtain a replacement permit from the police department. The ordinance establishes a $20 fee for the replacement of a lost or stolen residential daytime parking privilege for nonconforming residential uses permit, residential daytime parking privilege for commuter parking impacted areas permit or resident only parking permit. Under this ordinance, permit holders are limited to one replacement permit a year. The replacement permit shall have the same expiration date as the original permit.

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1.Section 81-86-3 of the code is created to read:
81-86. Parking Permit: On-street Daytime Residential.
3. The fee for the replacement of a lost or stolen permit shall be $20.
Part 2. Section 81-87 of the code is renumbered 81-87-1.
Part 3. Section 81-87-2 of the code is created to read:
81-87. Parking Permit: On-street Commuter Parking, Impacted Areas.
2. The fee for the replacement of a lost or stolen permit shall be $20.
Part 4. Section 101-27.5-8 to 10 of the code is renumbered 101-27.5-9 to 11.
Part 5. Section 101-27.5-8 of the code is created to read:
101-27.5. Residential Daytime Parking Privilege for Nonconforming Residential Uses.
