Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of a Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Grant. (Health Department)
ANLS:
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund a Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Grant project from the Center for Disease Control through the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services in the amount of $600,000. The purpose of the project is to support comprehensive and coordinated service delivery to lead-poisoned children.
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services for comprehensive and coordinated service delivery to lead-poisoned children; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 07/01/99 to 06/30/00 would cost $600,000 provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent 1999 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Project fund, the following amount for the project titled Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Grant:
