Substitute resolution approving construction of nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City construction cost estimated to be $1,297,594 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $2,110,139.

Body
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and
Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:
1st Aldermanic District
20th St Power Line and Beerline Trail - Olive St to Villard Ave & 24th St to 20th St. (ST3202102XX) (2984-22-75) File Number 201243: Construct a 10-foot wide shared use asphalt trail on the WE Energies power line corridor parallel to North 20th Street between West Olive Street and West Villard Avenue and on the former Beerline rail corridor between North 24th Place and North 20th Street. This project is anticipated to be completed in the 2024 construction season.

The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $50,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2024 construction season.
4th Aldermanic District
2024 Overpass Green Infrastructure Maintenance (SM499240020) Green Infrastructure maintenance. (Nonassessable Water Quality Fund -- $50,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $50,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2024 construction season.

16th Street Viaduct over the Menomonee River Stair Replacement (BR100240109): (City Share Non-assessable Structure Fund - $500,000). The total estimated cost for this project is $500,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2024 construction season.

2024 N. Sherman Blvd. Bioretention Maintenance (SM499240004) Bioretention maintenance. (Nonassessable Water Quality Fund -- $50,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $50,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2024 construction season.
10th Aldermanic District
2024 Wisconsin Viaduct Vegetation Management and Monitoring (SM499240005) Vegetation maintenance. (Nonassessable Water Quality Fund -- $10,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $10,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2024 construction season.
Citywide
2024 Northside Bioretention Maintenance (SM499240001) Bioretention maintenance. (Nonassessable Water Quality Fund -- $312,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $312,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2024 construction season.
2024 Southside Bioretention Maintenance (SM499240002) Bioretention maintenance. (Nonassessable Water Quality Fund -- $157,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $157,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2024 construction season.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
