Resolution relative to extension of the funding for the 1999 Maternal and Child Health Grant.
ANLS:
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and expend the extension of the 1999 Maternal and Child Health Grant project from the United States Department of Health and Human Services through the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services in the amount of $184,604 with a city share of $72,674 and a grantor share of $111,930. The purpose of the project is to continue programming in four service areas during 1999 under the Maternal and Child Health Block Grant allocations.
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the United States Department of Health and Family Services through the Wisconsin Department of Health and Social Services for a Maternal and Child Health Block Grant (CFDA #93.994); and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 10/01/99 to 12/31/99 would cost $184,604 of which $72,764 (39%) would be provided by the city and $111,930 (61%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent account of the 1999 Special Revenue Accounts-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project titled Maternal and Child Health Block Grant:

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to:
Expend from the amount appropriated sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Common Council directs that the 1999 Positions Ordinance, C.C. File 980575, should be amended as follows:
