Substitute resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Sexually Transmitted Diseases Detection Grant.
ANLS:
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Sexually Transmitted Diseases Detection Grant from the Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services in the amount of $250,000. The purpose of the grant is to provide support for testing for sexually transmitted disease.
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services to provide support for testing of sexually transmitted diseases; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 01/01/00 to 6/30/00 would cost $250,000 provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to commit funds within Project/Grant Parent 2000 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Project fund, the following amount for the project titled Sexually Transmitted Diseases Detection Grant:

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to:
1. Expend from the amount budgeted sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date; and
2. Expend from the 2000 grant budget funds for specified items of equipment.
