Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Revised Project Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the reconstruction of the West Lloyd Street from North 60^th Street to West Lisbon Avenue with 80% State and Federal aid under the Surface Transportation Program.  The revised agreement reallocates $200,000 for real estate acquisition, which is no longer needed, to construction and construction engineering, with no change to the estimated total project cost of $4,027,000, of which the City's share is $901,400 and the grantor's share is $3,125,600.

Whereas, A project agreement has been executed by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the City of Milwaukee for the improvement of West Lloyd Street from North 60^th Street to West Lisbon Avenue using State and Federal Aid under the Surface Transportation Program, in accordance with Common Council resolution file number 121742, adopted April 30, 2013; and

Whereas, The funding for real estate acquisition in the agreement is no longer needed; and

Whereas, The City requested and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation approved reallocation of the funding for real estate acquisition to construction and construction engineering; and

Whereas, a revised project agreement, including the reallocated funding for real estate acquisition to construction and construction engineering, has been received from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, to be executed by the City of Milwaukee with 80 % State and Federal Aid, under the Surface Transportation Program; and

Whereas, Construction for the project is currently scheduled for 2016 and construction funds and Local Force Agreement funds for the project will be included in a later resolution(s); now, therefore, be it

Resolved, by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute a Revised Project Agreement for the improvement of West Lloyd Street from North 60^th Street to West Lisbon Avenue to allow for the reallocation of funds for real estate acquisition to construction and construction engineering, with no change to the estimated total cost of $4,027,000; and, be it

Further Resolved, a copy of the revised project agreement is attached to this resolution file by reference as though set forth in full.
