Ordinance relating to the change in zoning from Multi-
Family Residence (R/A/85, R/B/40, R/D/40) to Lakefront
(LF/C/60), lands in public ownership adjacent to Lake
Michigan and extending from East Russell Avenue to the
south city limits line south of East Oklahoma Avenue,
in the 14th Aldermanic District. (Department of City

Passage of this ordinance will place all lakefront
property in public ownership into a zoning category
that more appropriately reflects its public
orientation.
BODY:
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee
do ordain as follows:
Part 1. There is hereby added to the Milwaukee Code a
new section to read as follows:
Section 295-650(5).0003.
The zoning map is hereby amended so as to change the
zoning for the area lying between the southwesterly
shoreline of Lake Michigan and the area bounded and
described as follows:
Commencing at the point of intersection of the westerly
shoreline of Lake Michigan and a northeasterly
extension of the center line of East Russell Avenue;
thence Southwesterly along the center line of East
Russell Avenue and northeasterly extension thereof to a
point on the center line of South Shore Drive; thence
Southeasterly along the center line of South Shore
Drive to a point on the center line of East Ontario
Street; thence Northeasterly along the center line of
East Ontario Street to a point on the southwesterly
line of South Shore Park, said point also being the
northeasterly terminus of East Ontario Street; thence
Southeasterly along the southwesterly line of South
Shore Park to a point on the center line of East Nock
Street; thence Southwesterly along the center line of
East Nock Street 333.00 feet to a point on the center
line of South Shore Drive; thence Southeasterly along
the center line of South Shore Drive to a point on the
center line of East Estes Street, thence Southwesterly
along the center line of East Estes Street to a point
on the center line of South Superior Street; thence
Southeasterly along the center line of South Superior
Street to a point on the center line of East Meredith
Street; thence Northeasterly along the center line of
East Meredith Street to a point on the center line of
South Shore Drive; thence Southeasterly along the
center line of South Shore Drive to a point on the
center line of East Texas Avenue; thence Northeasterly
along the center line of East Texas Avenue to its
northeasterly terminus, said point also being the
southwesterly line of South Shore Park; thence
Southeasterly 30.47 feet to a point on the
southeasterly line of East Texas Avenue which is 325.00
feet northeasterly of South Superior Street; thence
Southeasterly along the southwesterly line of South
Shore Park 602.99 feet to a point; thence Southeasterly
along the southwesterly line of South Shore Park 260.00
feet to a point; thence Southwesterly 30.00 feet to a
point; thence Southeasterly 100.00 feet to a point;
thence Southwesterly 155.00 feet to a point; thence
Southwesterly 89.44 feet to a point on the
northeasterly line of South Superior Street; thence
Southwesterly 33.00 feet to a point on the center line
of South Superior Street; thence Southeasterly along
the center line of South Superior Street 1070.00 feet
more or less to a point on the present city limits line
between the City of Milwaukee and the City of St.
Francis; thence Northeasterly along said city limits
boundary to a point on the Southwesterly shoreline of
Lake Michigan; thence Northwesterly along the shoreline
of Lake Michigan to the point of commencement from
Multi-Family Residence (R/A/85, R/B/40, R/D/40) to
Lakefront (LF/C/60).
