This resolution authorizes and directs the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Project Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to rehabilitate the North Humboldt Avenue Bridge over the Milwaukee River with 80% Federal and/or State aid. The total estimated cost of the project is $728,000, of which the City's share is $145,600. This resolution also directs the City Comptroller to transfer funds and establish accounts for the preliminary engineering phase of the project. The total estimated preliminary engineering cost for the project is $100,000, of which the City's share is $20,000. __________________________________________________________________

Whereas, Preliminary approval for preliminary engineering and construction has been requested and received from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT) along with a Project Agreement to be executed by the City of Milwaukee for the programming of the following bridge rehabilitation project with Federal and/or State Aid under the Local Bridge Replacement Program:

;now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to execute a Project Agreement with the WISDOT for the programming and construction of the rehabilitation of the North Humboldt Avenue Bridge over the Milwaukee River with Federal and/or State aid under the Local Bridge Replacement Program, a copy of which is attached to Common Council Resolution File No. 991981, and is incorporated in this resolution by reference as though set forth in full; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to undertake or to engage a consultant to undertake preliminary engineering for the improvement of the aforementioned project and to reimburse the WISDOT for preliminary engineering costs they incur for the project; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is hereby authorized to create within the Capital Improvement Fund, Grant and Aid Projects, the necessary Project/Grant Chartfield Values for preliminary engineering for the project (Expenditure) and transfer to any of these accounts the amount required under the grant agreement and City Accounting Policy but not to exceed a 10 percent increase of the total amount for the grantor's share and local share or $5,000, whichever is greater, as follows:
