Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Public Library to accept and fund a Work Rewards: Family-Based Career Exploration and Planning Grant from the MetLife Foundation in the amount of $6,011 with a city share of $1,011 and a grantor share of $5,000. The purpose of the project is to investigate the paths to meaningful work and to inspire youth to pursue positive choices toward future success.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from MetLife Foundation for the purpose of investigating the paths to meaningful work and to inspire youth to pursue positive choices toward future success; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 03/01/03 to 02/29/04 would cost $6,011 of which $1,011 (17%) would be provided by the city and $5,000 (83%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Milwaukee Public Library shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2003 Special Revenue--Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled " Work Rewards: Family-Based Career Exploration and Planning Grant:"

2. Create the necessary Special Revenue Fund - Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project Level values; budget to these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement;
3. Establish the necessary City Share Project values; and, be it
Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted for Milwaukee Public Library which is authorized to:
1. Expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;
2. Expend from the 2003 grant budget funds for specific items of equipment;
3. Enter into subcontracts and leases as detailed in the grant budget.
