Resolution to accept contribution of $750.00 from the Target Corporation for the purchase of two color printers.

This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a contribution of $750.00 from the Target Corporation for the purchase of two color printers.
 
An earlier resolution, File #980293, authorized the Police Department to receive (2) two printers from the Target Corporation. Target has ceased to stock these printers. As a result, this resolution will authorize the Police Department to receive a cash contribution from Target Corporation, and purchase the printers from another vendor.
 
BODY:
Whereas, Section 304-24 of the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances regulates the receipt, appropriation and expenditure of contributions received by the City; and
 
Whereas, The Police Department has been selected by Target for the award of (2) two color printers through their in-kind Law Enforcement Grant program whereby the corporation supplies law enforcement agencies with equipment and supplies needed for prevention, education or training activities related to curbing retail theft; and
 
Whereas, The contributed printers will be of benefit in producing photographs to be distributed for use in locating wanted criminal suspects and preventing criminal activities throughout Milwaukee, including the activities of organized retail theft and fencing groups; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Police Department is authorized to accept up to $750.00 of contributions and to expend such funds for color printers, no more than the amount actually received, in accordance with established City policies and procedures; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That upon receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to establish a Special Account within the Police Department's budget for the expenditure of this contribution; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer appropriations and estimated revenue from the Special Purpose Account for Donor Specified Municipal Purposes, Account NO. 01-027- 8001, and the estimated revenue account for Donor specified Municipal Purposes, Account 01-999-9960 to the Police Department's special account 01-331-85XX and the Police Department's estimated revenue account 01- 331- 996X up to the amount of $750.00.
