Title
Resolution rescinding various special privileges that are no longer necessary at various locations within the City of Milwaukee.
Analysis
This resolution rescinds various special privileges granting permission for items to encroach into the public right-of-way because said items have been removed from the public right-of-way, are now permitted in the public right-of-way or are now covered under another special privilege resolution.
Body
Whereas, Said special privileges granted permission for various encroachments in the public right-of-way; and
Whereas, The special privileges listed below are no longer necessary because the subject items have been removed from the public right-of-way by the owner; the items are now permissible encroachments under the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; or the items are now covered under another special privilege resolution; and
Whereas, For items removed from the public right-of-way, said owners notified the Department of Public Works that they no longer need the special privilege granted them; and
Whereas, In order to release property owners from the bonding, insurance and annual special privilege fee requirements placed on the property owner as part of the granting of a special privilege, the Common Council needs to pass a resolution rescinding special privileges which are no longer needed; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the following special privilege resolutions are rescinded:
1. Common Council Resolution File Number 54-2676 granted to Victor Reckmeyer for an ornamental glass and marble façade for the premises at 329 East Wisconsin Avenue.
2. Common Council Resolution File Numbers 55-536 and 55-536-a granted to Culligan Water Conditioning for two chutes in the sidewalk abutting the premises at 5934 West Appleton Avenue.
3. Common Council Resolution File Number 57-1707 granted to Gimbel Brothers Incorporated for conduit under the intersection of North Plankinton Avenue and West Michigan Street for the premises at 101 West Wisconsin Avenue.
4. Common Council Resolution File Number 65-733A granted to Marc Plaza Corporation for a hollow alley for the premises at 509 West Wisconsin Avenue.
5. Common Council Resolution File Number 67-3753D granted to Gimbel Brothers, Incorporated for excess door swings for the premises at 101 West Wisconsin Avenue.
6. Common Council Resolution File Number 74-1163 granted to Lindsey and Son, Inc. for a backup driveway, bollards, and overhead door housings for the premises at 2127 West National Avenue.
