Analysis

This resolution directs the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Wauwatosa for non-participating real estate acquisition activities related to the West Bluemound Road from North 106^th Avenue to North 66^th Avenue.  The Memorandum of Understanding provides for 60 percent City of Milwaukee funding and 40 percent City of Wauwatosa funding of the non-participating real estate acquisition costs.  The total estimated cost of this work is $164,650.00 with a City of Milwaukee share of $98,790 and a City of Wauwatosa share of $65,860. 

Body

Whereas, A project agreement has been requested by the City of Milwaukee to be executed by the City of Wauwatosa for the non-participating costs of real estate acquisition on the Bluemound Road from North 106^th Avenue to North 66^th Avenue project with Federal aid under the State Highway Rehabilitation-Maintenance (SHRM) program; and

Whereas, The Department of Public Works shall notify the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee of project cost overruns and changes in scope approved by the Department of Public Works; and

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee recognizes that the City may be 100 percent liable for project cost overruns and changes in scope as approved by the Department of Public Works; and be it

Further Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute the Memorandum of Understanding for the non-participating real estate acquisition activities of the aforementioned SHRM project with the City of Wauwatosa, copies of which are attached to Common Council Resolution File Number 251610, and are incorporated into this resolution by reference as though set forth in full.
