Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of a 2003
Advanced Roundabout Design Workshop Grant. (Infrastructure Services Division)
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to apply for,
accept and fund a 2003 Advanced Roundabout Design Workshop Grant project from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Safety in the amount of $6,000, with no required City share and a grantor share of $6,000. The purpose of the project is to provide a workshop on the latest engineering and design techniques for the selection, design, and installation of modern roundabouts.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds (CFDA #20.600) from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Safety for the training of engineering staff members in the area of modern roundabout engineering and design; and
Whereas, The presentation of the grant workshop on October 23, 24, and 25, 2002 would cost $6,000 with no required share provided by the City and $6,000 would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Safety is authorized and the Department of Public Works shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit Funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2002 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project/program titled 2003 Advanced Roundabout Design Workshop:

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted for the Department of Public Works, Infrastructure Services Division-Transportation Section which is authorized to expend from the amount budgeted for specific purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date.
