Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a revised project agreement   with the WISDOT for programming and construction of West Brown Deer Road from North 91^st Street to North 124^th Street with 100 percent Federal/State aid under the State Trunk Highway Program. The revised agreement adds the construction of new sidewalk costs to be undertaken with 80 percent Federal/State funds.

Body

Whereas, A project agreement was executed by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT)  and the City of Milwaukee for the preliminary engineering and construction work for the improvement of West Brown Deer Road from North 91^st Street to North 124^th Street in accordance with Common Council Resolution File number 070839, adopted on November 12, 2007; and

Whereas, Preliminary engineering activities have begun; and

Whereas, A revised project agreement, adding new sidewalk work to the previously approved preliminary engineering and construction funding has been received from WISDOT to be executed by the City of Milwaukee for the West Brown Deer Road project; and

Whereas, Estimated costs of the new sidewalk for this project is indicated in the revised project agreement; and

Whereas, Funds for the additional sidewalk work for this project will be included in future resolutions; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute the revised project agreement for the programming and construction of West Brown Deer Road from North 91^st Street to North 124^th Street with Federal/State aid under the State Trunk Highway Program, a copy of which is attached to Common Council Resolution File number 090048, and is incorporated in this resolution by reference as though set forth in full; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Engineer is hereby authorized to approve and make periodic payments to the WISDOT upon receipt of invoices for the City’s share of costs of the project.
