Title
Substitute resolution authorizing the Commissioner of Public Works to issue a permit to occupy, and close to pedestrians and vehicular traffic, the entire right-of-way of West Oregon Street between South 2nd Street and South 1st Street, for the use of the developer engaged in renovating an existing building located on the south side of West Oregon Street
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to issue a permit to Gorman & Company, Inc. allowing temporary occupancy of the entire roadway and sidewalk areas along West Oregon Street for their use in conjunction with their renovation of a five-story building located at 133 West Oregon Street
Body
Whereas, Gorman & Company, Inc. is making improvements to an existing five-story building located at 133 West Oregon Street; and
Whereas, the existing building occupies the entire construction site, leaving no place for the storage of materials and equipment except a parking lot on the opposite side of West Oregon Street; and
Whereas, Gorman & Company, Inc. has requested permission to occupy the entire right-of-way of the 100 blocks of West Oregon Street for the placement of material and equipment, and to facilitate the transfer of materials from the parking lot across the street; and
Whereas, The Commissioner of Public Works is authorized to issue permits for temporary occupancy of up to one-third of the roadway and temporary occupancy beyond that limit must be approved by the Common Council; now, therefore be it
Resolved, That the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to issue a permit to Gorman & Company, Inc. allowing occupancy of the entire right-of-way of West Oregon Street between South 2nd Street and South 1st Street for the period of time necessary to complete the building renovation.
