Title
A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2025 offices and positions in the City Service.
Analysis
This substitute ordinance changes the offices and positions in the following departments:
Department of Administration (Environmental Collaboration Office), Department of Emergency Communications, Library, Police Department, Port Milwaukee, Department of Public Works (Operations Division)
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 240765 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under “Department of Administration, Environmental Collaboration Office”, add one position of “Management Trainee (E)” and add new footnote (E) to read:
(E) Fund for Lake Michigan Position Authority for the Management Trainee to expire if grant funding is discontinued or the agreement is extended.
Under “Department of Emergency Communications”, add footnote designation (X) to one position of “Emergency Communications Director” and one position of “Emergency Communications Deputy Director”, and add new footnote (X) to read:
(X) Private automobile allowance may be paid pursuant to Section 350-183 of the Milwaukee Code.
Under “Library, Administrative Services Decision Unit”, add new footnote (M) to read:
(M) Position authority to expire 03/15/2025 unless the Cities Forward Grant is extended.
Under “Communications and Marketing Division”, add one position of “Temporary Community Education Assistant (M)(X)”.
Under “Police Department, Facilities Services Section”, delete one position of “Municipal Services Electrician” and add one position of “HVAC Maintenance Technician 4”.
Under “Port Milwaukee, Administration and Finance Section”, delete one position of “Port Finance and Administration Manager (Y)” and add one position of “Port Finance and Administration Officer (Y)”.
Part 2. Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 240765 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 6, 2025 - March 2, 2025):
Under “Department of Emergency Communications”, delete one position of ‘Emergency Communications Supervisor - Quality Assurance, delete one position of “Emergency Communications Supervisor - Training”, and add two positions of “Emergency Communications Supervisor”; delete fifteen 15 positions of ‘Emergency Comm. V - Lead (Floor Operations”, delete three positions of “Emergency Communications Officer V - Quality Assurance”, delete three positions of “Emergency Communications Officer V - Training”, and add twenty-one positions of “Emergency Communications Lead”; delete one hundred and seventy five positions of “Emergency Communications Officer IV” and add one hundred and seventy five positions of “Emergency Communications Officer V”; and delete eight positions of “Emergency Communications Officer IV (A)” and add eight positions of “Emergency Communications Officer V (A)”.
Under “Department of Public Works - Operations Division, Administration Section”, delete one position of “Finance and Administration Manager” and add one position of “Operations Administration Manager”.
Part 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Part 4. The provisions of Part 2 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 6, 2025 (March 2, 2025).
The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.
Part 5. This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
