Adoption of this resolution approves the final plans and specifications as is called for in the Park East Development and Cooperation Agreement as amended for Project Block No. 9 which is located in Tax Incremental District No. 29, City of Milwaukee. The specific plans and specifications are for a 109 unit apartment building and a pedestrian way which will connect North Prospect Avenue to North Lincoln Memorial Drive.

BODY:

Whereas, The Park East Corridor (the "Corridor") is a former freeway right-of-way, 9 blocks long and 1 block wide; and

 

Whereas, The Corridor lies within the boundaries of the Park East Project Area which the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee, with the approval of the City of Milwaukee, has created; and

 

Whereas, The Corridor also lies within the boundary of Tax Incremental District No. 29 which has been created by the City of Milwaukee via Common Council File No. 941939, adopted June 6, 1995, and approved by the Joint Review Board on July 10, 1995; and

 

Whereas, The Common Council approved entering into a Park East Development and Cooperation Agreement via Common Council File No. 890619, adopted November 17, 1989; and

 

Whereas, Contained within the Park East Development and Cooperation Agreement are several mandated City approval requirements; and

 

Whereas, TCR/MRC Joint Venture is seeking to obtain approval of the final plans and specifications for Project Block No. 9, including the pedestrian way connecting North Prospect Avenue to North Lincoln Memorial Drive; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the final plans and specifications for the development of Project Block No. 9, a copy of which are attached to this Common Council File as Exhibit "A", are approved; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That any change requiring a modification of the applicable building permit from the material changes in the exterior appearance in the Project also requires the approval by the City of Milwaukee.
