Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Lead-Based Paint Evaluation Study – Follow-Up Grant. (Health Department)
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Lead-Based Paint Evaluation Study – Follow-Up Grant project from the National Center for Lead Safe Housing in the amount of $2,300 provided by the grantor. The purpose of the grant is to conduct a long-term evaluation of the condition of housing units that underwent lead hazard control interventions from 1994-1995 as a part of a HUD study.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the National Center for Lead Safe Housing to conduct a long-term evaluation of the condition of housing units that underwent lead hazard control interventions from 1994-1995 as a part of a HUD study; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 09/01/01 to 06/30/02 would cost $2,300 provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the National Center for Lead Safe Housing is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2001 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the project titled Lead-Based Paint Evaluation Study – Follow-up Grant:

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to:
1. Expend from the amount appropriated sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;
2. Expend from the 2001 grant budget funds for items of equipment as may be deemed necessary for the effective operation of the program;
3. Expend from the 2001 grant budget funds for training and out-of-town travel by departmental staff.
