Title

Substitute resolution amending Common Council File Number 221114 relative to acceptance and funding of the 2022-27 Public Health Infrastructure grant from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.

 

Analysis

This substitute resolution amends Common Council File Number 221114 accepting and funding the 2022-27 Public Health Infrastructure grant from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention. The purpose of the grant is supporting public health foundational capacity and ensuring the Milwaukee Health Department has the workforce and systems of a 21st century public health department.

 

Body

Whereas, Common Council File Number 221114 authorized the Health Department to accept and fund the Strengthening U.S. Public Health Infrastructure, Workforce, and Data Systems grant for the purpose of supporting public health foundational capacity and ensuring the Milwaukee Health Department has the workforce and systems of a 21st century public health department. This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $8,965,231 and a City share total amount of $0; and

 

Whereas, the Grantor share for this program is increased by $813,677, and total cost is increased by $813,677; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81-5c; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

 

1.  Amend the budgeted funds within the Project/Grant parent account of the 2022 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled CDC Public Health Infrastructure:
