Title

Substitute ordinance to further amend the 2007 offices and positions in the City Service under control of the Common Council.

 

Analysis

This substitute ordinance makes positions changes to the following departments:

Fire Department, Health Department, Library, Police Department, Department of Public Works-Parking Fund, Department of Public Works-Water Works

 

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  Section 1 of ordinance File Number 060494 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2007 - December 31, 2006):

 

Under “Fire Department, Firefighting Division, Decision Unit”, delete three positions of “Fire Captain-Incident Safety Office” and add three positions of “Fire Captain-Incident Safety Officer.”

 

Under “Police Department, Operations Decision Unit, Assigned As Needed Within Decision Unit” add twenty-two positions of “Police Officer.”

 

Part 2.  Section 1 of ordinance File Number 060494 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 6, 2007 - March 11, 2007):

 

Under “Health Department, Disease Control and Prevention Division, Bioterrorism Grant -Focus CRI/Pandemic Influenza (P)”, delete one position of “Health Promotion and Risk Communication Coordinator (X)(P)(DD)” and add one position of “Health Project Coordinator-Immunizations (X)(P)(DD)”; under “School Readiness Immunization Initiative”, delete one position of “Health Project Assistant (Auxiliary)” and one position of “Public Health Nurse (Auxiliary)” and add one position of “Health Project Assistant (X)” and one position of “Public Health Nurse (X).”

 

Part 3.  Section 1 of ordinance File Number 060494 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

 

Under “Library, Administrative Services Decision Unit, Purchasing and Stores Unit”, delete one position of “Inventory Control Assistant III (Y)” and add one position of “Program Assistant II (Y).”

 

Under “Department of Pubic Works, Parking Fund, Tow Lot”, delete one position of “Office Supervisor II”, one position of “Accounting Assistant II”, one position of “Office Assistant IV” and seven positions of “Office Assistant III”, and add one position of “Tow Lot Supervisor”, two positions of “Tow Lot Assistant IV” and seven positions of “Tow Lot Assistant III.”

 

Under “Department of Public Works, Water Works, Distribution Organization, Field Operations”, delete two positions of “Water Distribution Construction Manager (X)”, eight positions of “Water Distribution Field Operations Supervisor (X)” and one position of “Water Distribution Systems Manager (X)” and add two positions of “Water Distribution Scheduling Manager (X)”, eight positions of “Water Distribution Field Supervisor (X)” and one position of “Water Distribution Business Systems Supervisor (X); under “Auxiliary”, delete one position of “Water Distribution Field Operations Supervisor (0.33 FTE)” and add one position of “Water Distribution Field Supervisor (0.33 FTE).”

 

Part 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Part 5.  The provisions of Part 1 of this ordinance are deemed to have been in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2007 (December 31, 2006).

 

The provisions of Part 2 of this ordinance are deemed to have been in force and effect from and after Pay Period 6, 2007 (March 11, 2007).

 

The provisions of all other parts of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after the first day of the first pay period following passage and publication.

 

Part 6.  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
