Analysis
This ordinance amends Resolution File Number 050600, adopted on September 27, 2005, relating to the application for, acceptance and expenditure of FY 2005 Urban Areas Security Initiative Program Grant, by placing the position of “UASI Emergency Government Coordinator” in the Department of Administration consistent with File Number 051158, adopted on January 18, 2006, which placed the position in the Department of Administration, deleting it from the Mayor’s Office.

Whereas, On September 27, 2005, the Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 050600, authorizing the application for, acceptance and expenditure of FY 2005 Urban Areas Security Initiative Program Grant; and
Whereas, This resolution further authorized expenditure of funds by the Mayor’s Office for the position of Emergency Government Coordinator, and File Number 050457, a substitute ordinance relating to the offices and positions in the various departments, bureaus and commissions, adopted on November 11, 2005, placed this position in the Mayor’s Office; and
Whereas, File Number 051158, adopted on January 18, 2006, amended the Positions Ordinance to place the position of Emergency Government Coordinator in the Department of Administration, deleting it from the Mayor’s Office; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Resolution File Number 050600, adopted on September 27, 2005, relating to the application for, acceptance and expenditure of FY 2005 Urban Areas Security Initiative Program Grant is amended as follows:
1. In the first “Further Resolved” clause, under Item 1, following the amount of $160,000, delete (“Mayor’s Office”) and, insert in lieu thereof (“Department of Administration”).
2. In the last "Further Resolved" clause, delete the last sentence, and inset in lieu thereof the following "Under Department of Administration, Office of the Director”, add one position of “Emergency Government Coordinator (A)” and add footnote “(A)” to read as follows: “To expire 3/31/07 unless the Urban Areas Security Initiative Program Grant, available from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, is extended."
