Title
Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $220,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $2,879,000.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable. After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council. The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $220,000 with the total cost estimated to be $2,879,000.
Body
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:
1st and 7th Aldermanic Districts
W. Hampton Ave. - N. Sherman Blvd. to N. 55th St. (ST211090145): Paving the roadway with asphalt. Laying a concrete curb and gutter. Laying concrete sidewalk. Doing all the necessary grading pertaining to said work. (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $25,000). The total estimated cost for this is $25,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2009 construction season.
5th Aldermanic District
Hartung Quarry Water Quality Detention Facility (SM493090103): (Nonassessable Sewer Fund-TSS Removal Fund -- $20,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $750,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2009 construction season.
8th Aldermanic District
W. Pierce St. - S. 38th St. to S. 39th St. (WT410100014): Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $64,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2010 construction season.
S. 39th St. - W. Pierce St. to W. National Ave. (WT410100015): Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $160,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2010 construction season.
10th Aldermanic District
W. Appleton Ave. - W. Chapman Pl. to W. Capitol Dr. (WT410100013): Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $95,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2010 construction season.
11th Aldermanic District
W. Harrison Ave. - W. Kinnickinnic River Pkwy. to S. 62nd St. (WT410101037): Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $80,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2010 construction season.
S. 61st St. - 195 feet north of W. Harrison Ave. to W. Harrison Ave. (WT410101036): Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $45,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2010 construction season.
S. 63rd St. - W. Harrison Ave. to W. Cleveland Ave. (WT410101038): Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $125,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2010 construction season.
Various Locations
Stormwater Quality Treatment Devices Part 1 (SM493090104): (Nonassessable Sewer Fund-TSS Removal Fund -- $20,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $370,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2009 construction season.
Stormwater Quality Treatment Devices Part 2 (SM493090105): (Nonassessable Sewer Fund-TSS Removal Fund -- $20,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $800,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2009 construction season.

S. Honey Creek Dr. - W. Marcy Ln. to W. Plainfield Ave. (WT410101033): Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $60,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2010 construction season.
W. Plainfield Ave. - S. Honey Creek Dr. to S. 64th St. (WT410101034): Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $185,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2010 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
