Title
Substitute resolution authorizing attendance of Ald. Joe Davis, Sr., at meetings of the National League of Cities and further authorizing expenditure of funds from the Economic Development Committee Fund for travel expenses related to that attendance.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes Ald. Joe Davis, Sr., to attend two meetings of the National League of Cities Community and Economic Development Policy and Advocacy Steering Committee. The first meeting is June 16-18, 2005, in Denver, while the second is September 9-10, 2005, in Macon, Georgia. This resolution further authorizes the City Clerk to expend up to $1,800 from the Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account for travel expenses relating to Ald. Davis' attendance at these meetings.

Whereas, Alderman Joe Davis, Sr., is a member of the National League of Cities Community and Economic Development Policy and Advocacy Steering Committee; and
Whereas, This committee will be meeting June 16-18, 2005, in Denver and September 9-10 in Macon, Georgia; and
Whereas, The footnote in the 2005 Budget for the Economic Development Committee Special Purpose Account states:
"Funds to be expended for Common Council initiatives related to economic development and for economic development-related travel by Common Council members."

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Ald. Joe Davis, Sr., is authorized to attend and participate in meetings of the National League of Cities Community and Economic Development Policy and Advocacy Steering Committee on June 16-18, 2005, in Denver and on September 9-10, 2005, in Macon, Georgia; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Clerk is authorized to expend up to $1,800 from the Economic Development Committee Fund (Account Number 0001-1310-S123-006300) for travel, lodging and per diem expenses related to Ald. Davis' attendance and participation at these meetings, using the amounts of $350 for travel, $150 per day for lodging and $50 per day for miscellaneous expenses; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the authorized travel and expenditures shall be in accordance with all applicable provisions of s. 350-181 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances.
