Analysis

This resolution declares the Fifth District Beautification Project to be an official City event and authorizes the acceptance and expenditure of contributions for this purpose.

Body

Whereas, The Fifth District Beautification Project is a new initiative that will help recognize outstanding landscaping efforts and promote pride in Milwaukee’s neighborhoods; and

 

Whereas, The Fifth District Beautification Project is organized by the Fifth District Beautification Committee, which consists of five dedicated 5th Aldermanic District residents, including a Chair, Vice-Chair, and three members; and

 

Whereas, At the end of the summer season, the Committee will present a Beautification Award to a neighbor who has created exceptional landscaping and gardening spaces in order to recognize their exceptional contributions to making the district shine; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Fifth District Beautification Project is declared to be an official City event; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Common Council-City Clerk’s Office is authorized to accept and expend gifts for this purpose; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That upon receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to establish a special account within the Common Council - City Clerk’s budget for the expenditure of the contributions; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer appropriations and estimated revenue from the Special Purpose Account for Contributions, 0001-2110-0001-006300-D001, and the Estimated Revenue Account for Contributions, 0001-2110-0001-009850, to the Common Council-City Clerk’s Special Account, 0001-1310-DXXX-006300 or -006000 as directed by the City Clerk, and the Common Council-City Clerk’s Estimated Revenue Account, 0001-1310-0001-009850, up to the amount of $100,000; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That all City departments are directed to assist as necessary to make the Fifth District Beautification Project successful.
