Analysis
This ordinance authorizes reimbursement for the purchase of safety shoes by employees working in a classification which management has determined requires the wearing of approved safety shoes.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 350-94 of the code is amended to read:
350-94. Safety Shoe Allowance. Employees working in a classification which management has determined requires the wearing of approved safety shoes shall be eligible for the standard safety shoe allowance of [[$130]] >>$175<< annually for the reimbursement of the purchase of safety shoes>>.<< Payments made under this section shall not be construed as being part of an employee's base salary and shall not be included in the computation of any fringe benefits. Such payments shall not have any sum deducted for pension benefits, nor shall such payments be included in any computation establishing pension benefits or payments.
Part 2. Section 350-206-0 of the code is amended to read:
350-206. Tuition Benefits; All Employees. Unless stated otherwise in a certified collective bargaining agreement while it is in force and in effect, employees shall be eligible for tuition benefits relating to tuition and required textbooks. Tuition benefits shall be [[$1,200]] >>$1,500<< per calendar year. The following provisions apply:
Part 3 Section 350-206-2 of the code is amended to read:
2. Up to [[$1,200]] >>$1,500<<in tuition benefits per calendar year may be used for job-related membership dues.
Part 4. Section 3050-206-3 of the code is amended to read:
3. Police aides shall be eligible for a combined maximum of [[$2,400]] >>$3,000<< during the first 2 calendar years of employment.
