Title
Resolution authorizing the acceptance and funding of a $82,500 U. S. Department of Homeland Security FY 2007 IPP Port Security Grant.
Analysis
This resolution authorize the City of Milwaukee to accept a $82,500 (75%) U. S. Department of Homeland Security FY 2007 IPP Port Security Grant with a City share of $27,500 (25%) and authorizes the Port of Milwaukee, the Police Department, and the Fire Department to expend the Grant funds in accordance with the grant award.
Body
Whereas, Common Council Resolution File No. 061427 adopted on 3/22/07 authorizes the application for a 2007 Port security Grant from the United States Department of Homeland security; and
Whereas The City of Milwaukee has received grant award notice 2007-GB-T7-0128 totaling $82,500 as a result of the application; and
Whereas, The following project is included in the grant work:
Required Port Security area Training and Exercise drill (Port - Grant Amount of $82,500 and a City share of $27,500, totaling $110,000); now, therefore, be it
Resloved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Departments are authorized to accept and expend this grant without further approval unless terms of the grant change as indicated in Commmon Council File 030712; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Controller is authorized and directed to:
Commit funds within the city's capital project fund, the following amounts for the project titled Homeland Security FY 2007 IPP Port Security Grant:

; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Port Milwaukee, the Police Department, and the Fire Department are authorized to expend these funds for the specified purpose as indicated in the grant agreement; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the proper City Officials and/or the Municipal Port Director are authorized to sign the aforementioned grant without further Common Council approval; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Municipal Port Director is authorized to sign agreements, forms, claims and other required documents binding upon the city in connection with the acceptance and expenditure of this grant.
