Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a project agreement titled “Memorandum of Understanding between the Village of Shorewood and the City of Milwaukee” for the cost of paving of streets included with the High Impact paving contract.

Body

Whereas, The Village of Shorewood has requested that the City of Milwaukee pave the following streets in their jurisdiction:  North Woodruff Avenue from East Congress Street to East Kensington Boulevard; North Marlborough Drive from East Congress Street to East Glendale Avenue and North Sheffield Avenue from North Wilson Drive to East Glendale Avenue; and

Whereas, this will achieve efficiencies and reduce costs with respect to the street paving; and

Whereas, The projects can be included in the Department of Public Works High Impact Resurface Program; and

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee will be the lead agency of the project design and construction; and

Whereas, These projects are programmed for construction in 2017; and

Whereas, The Village of Shorewood will reimburse the City of Milwaukee for the repaving work upon completion, in the contract with Stark Asphalt (C523170020) (ST214170107) Funding for the construction phase of the project in the City of Milwaukee was included in resolution 161154; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public works is hereby authorized to execute the project agreement titled “Memorandum of Understanding for the cost sharing of the rehabilitation of various streets in the Village of Shorewood”, copies of which are attached to Common Council Resolution File Number 170481, and are incorporated by reference as though set forth in full.
