Title
Substitute resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Grant from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund a Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Grant project from the Center for Disease Control through the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services in the amount of $658,993. The purpose of the project is to support comprehensive and coordinated service delivery to lead-poisoned children.
BODY
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services for comprehensive and coordinated service delivery to lead-poisoned children; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 07/01/07 to 06/30/08 would cost $658,993 provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2007 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects fund, the following amount for the project titled Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Grant:

2. Create the necessary Special Revenue Fund - Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project Levels; budget to these Project/Grant values the amounts required under the grant agreement; and, be it
Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to:
Expend from the amount appropriated sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;
Expend from the 2007 grant budget funds for specific items of equipment;
3. Expend from the 2007 grant budget funds for training and out-of-town travel for departmental staff; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Common Council directs that the 2007 Positions Ordinance C.C. File Number 060494, should be amended as follows:
