Substitute resolution authorizing the City of Milwaukee to license office space to Wisconsin Alliance for Women’s Health, Inc. in the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Joseph J. Zilber School of Public Health to implement the Providers and Teens Communicating for Health (“PATCH”) program.

 Analysis

This resolution authorizes the City of Milwaukee to enter into a license agreement with Wisconsin Alliance for Women’s Health, Inc. allowing them to enter and occupy cubicles 210J and 210K on the second floor of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Zilber School of Public Health to accomplish administrative processes necessary to implement the Providers and Teens Communicating for Health program.

Body

Whereas, teens and health care providers don’t always speak the same language; and

Whereas, adolescents must be able to engage in open, honest and medically accurate discussions about sensitive topics with their health care providers to ensure a healthy future generation; and

Whereas, the PATCH program is an intervention designed to bridge the communication gap between adolescents and their health care providers; and

Whereas, the ultimate goal of this program is to improve communication between providers and adolescent patients, and therefore, improve the quality of care for young people in our community; and

Whereas, the City of Milwaukee Health Department (MHD) would like to sub-license two cubicles to the Wisconsin Alliance for Women’s Health, Inc. to implement the PATCH program, now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Common Council approves the License agreement between the City of Milwaukee and the Wisconsin Alliance for Women’s Health, Inc., pursuant to an agreement in substantially the same form as the agreement attached hereto; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the designated officers of said government are hereby authorized and directed to execute an agreement to carry out this purpose; and, be it

Further Resolved, That such authority of the City of Milwaukee Health Department shall continue, unless otherwise rescinded or amended by future Common Council action.
