Title
Resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $140,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $3,560,000.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable. After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council. The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $140,000 with the total cost estimated to be $3,560,000.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:
1st Aldermanic District
N. 31st St. - W. Courtland Ave. to W. Hampton Ave. (SM495130016): Relaying sanitary sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $148,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2014 construction season.
7th and 15th Aldermanic Districts
W. Locust St. - N. 24th St. to N. 27th St. (SM495130018): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $20,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $1,075,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2014 construction season.
N. 27th St. - W. Center St. to W. Locust St. (SM495130017): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $20,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $1,273,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2014 construction season.
8th and 12th Aldermanic Districts
W. Pierce St. - S. Cesar Chavez Dr. to W. Reynolds Pl. (SM495120123): Combined large diameter sewer lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $1,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $384,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.
10th Aldermanic District
W. Vliet St. - N. 54th St. to N. Hawley Rd. (SM495130023): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $106,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2014 construction season.
N. 54th St. - W. McKinley Ave. to W. Vliet St. (SM495130022): Combined sewer relay and lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $108,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2014 construction season.
13th Aldermanic District
W. College Ave. - 250 feet m/l west of S. Howell Ave. to S. Howell Ave. (SM495130019): Relaying sanitary sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $61,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.
14th Aldermanic District
S. Whitnall Ave. - 130 feet north of E. Holt Ave. to E. Holt Ave. (WT410130013): 2-inch copper insert. (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $3,000; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $45,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.
S. 9th St. - W. Dakota St. to W. Montana St. (SM495130020): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $142,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2014 construction season.
15th Aldermanic District
N. 24th Pl. - W. Lisbon Ave. to W. Vine St. (SM495130021): New storm sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $178,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2014 construction season.
Hales Corners
W. Janesville Rd. at Water Easement 617 (Vacated S. 111th St.) (WT410140005): Water main alteration. (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $3,500; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $11,500). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $40,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2014 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
