Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council File 041037 relative to the Lead Demonstration Grant . The purpose of the grant is to make an additional 1,295 housing units lead-safe with a community-based organization to assure lead-safe and habitable housing in the south side target area.
Body
Whereas, Common Council File 041037 authorized the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Lead Demonstration Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the purpose of making an additional 1,295 housing units lead-safe with a community-based organization to assure lead-safe and habitable housing in the south side target area .This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $4,000,000 and City share of 1,034,229; and
Whereas, The Grantor share for this program is not increased and the City share is increased by $169,128; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that application to U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is authorized and the Health Department shall accept such a grant without further Common Council approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That there is no change to the Project/Grant Parent 2005 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects fund; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Common Council directs that the 2005 Positions Ordinance, Common Council File 040459, should be amended as follows:
