Substitute ordinance to further amend the 1997 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service under control of the Common Council.
BODY:
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 2 of ordinance File Number 961001 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Salary Grade 001, add the title "Human Resources Assistant."
Under Salary Grade 003, add the title "Human Resources Analyst."
Under Salary Grade 004, delete the title "Nursery Supervisor."
Under Salary Grade 005, add the titles "Human Resources Analyst-Senior" and "Permits and Communications Specialist."
Under Salary Grade 007, delete the title "Classification Systems Administrator" and add the title "Human Resources Representative."
Under Salary Grade 008, delete the title "Training and Development Manager" and add the title "Greenhouse and Nursery Manager."
Under Salary Grade 009, add the titles "Permits and Communications Manager" and "Human Resources Coordinator."
Under Salary Grade 011, delete the title "Equal Employment Opportunity Manager."
Under Salary Grade 012, delete the titles "Compensation Services Manager" and "Staffing Services Manager" and add the title "Human Resources Manager."
Part 2. Section 2 of ordinance File Number 961001 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby further amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 1998 (December 28, 1997).
Under Salary Grade 012, delete the titles "Facilities Repair Engineer" and Facilities Manager."
Under Salary Grade 013, add the title "Facilities Services Manager."
Under Salary Grade 014, next to the title "Facilities Design and Construction Manager", add the footnote "1/ Position to be studied for proper classification and pay allocation when vacated by Bernard Mielcarek" and next to the title "Fleet Services Manager", add the footnote "2/ Position to be studied for proper classification and pay allocation when vacated by Edward Jackamonis."
Part 3. Section 10 of ordinance File Number 961001 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 1998 (December 28, 1997):
Under Pay Range 627, add the title "Facilities Construction Project Coordinator."
Part 4. Section 5 of ordinance File Number 961001 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 14, 1996 (June 30, 1996):
Under Pay Range 410, add the titles "Office Assistant II (Police District Station) 3/" and "Transcriptionist II."
Under Pay Range 415, delete the title "Mail Processor I" and in footnote "3/" delete the name "Kathryn Lalasz."
Create a new Pay Range 424 as follows:

Under Pay Range 425, delete the title "Mail Processor II" and add the title "Transcriptionist III." In footnote "2/" delete the name "Sandra Carstensen (DPW- Support Services)" and in footnote "3/" delete the names "Angela Ewing (City Clerk) and Susan Jasicki (Fire Department)."
Under Pay Range 435, add the title "Teller-Water II." Delete footnote "2/" in its entirety, and in footnote "3/" delete the names "Mari Tatrow (Comptroller)", "Judith Hartung, Marilyn Morgan, and Laurie Petrie (Health)."
Under Pay Range 455, delete footnote "2/" in its entirety.
Under Pay Range 460, add the title "Office Coordinator."
Part 5. Section 8 of ordinance File Number 961001 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 14, 1996 (June 30, 1996):
Under Pay Range 540, add the title "Pay Services Specialist."
Part 6. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Part 7. The provisions of Parts 2 and 3 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 1998 (December 28, 1997).
The provisions of Parts 4 and 5 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 14, 1996 (June 30, 1996).
The provisions of all other parts of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after the first day of the first pay period following passage and publication.
Part 7. This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
