This resolution authorizes and directs the City Comptroller to create the necessary accounts and appropriate the necessary funds for the City of Milwaukee's share of preliminary engineering for the Jobs Corridor Projects.
 
 
BODY:
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted Resolution File Number 970113 on May 13, 1997, which authorized and directed the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a document titled "State/Municipal Agreement for a Highway Improvement Project" with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT) for the programming and construction of the following projects with Federal and/or State aid:
 
Project I.D. 2130-08-00, 20, 40, 70
 
West Good Hope Road from North 124th Street to the USH 41/45 Interchange
 
Project I.D. 2130-06-00, 20, 40, 70
 
USH 41/45 Interchange with North 124th Street and North 124th Street from the interchange to Dretzka Park Road
 
Project I.D. 2175-04-00, 20, 40, 70
 
North 124th Street from Dretzka Park Road to West Brown Deer Road; and
 
Whereas, The above-mentioned projects include work in both the City of Milwaukee and the Village of Menomonee Falls; and
 
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee will act as lead agent in reimbursing the WISDOT for the local share of these projects; and
 
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee and the Village of Menomonee Falls will enter into a cost sharing agreement in which the Village of Menomonee Falls will agree to pay the City of Milwaukee their share of the project costs as we receive bills from the WISDOT; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to create within the Capital Improvement Fund, Grant and Aid Projects, the necessary accounts for preliminary engineering for these projects (Expenditure and Revenue), and transfer to these accounts the amount required under the grant agreement and City accounting policy, but not to exceed a 10 percent increase of the total amounts reserved for the grantor's share and local share, and transfer as follows:

Further Resolved, That upon receipt of invoices from the WISDOT, the City Engineer is authorized to request funds from the Village of Menomonee Falls for their share of the costs; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That upon payment by the Village of Menomonee Falls, the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to approve and make periodic payments to the WISDOT for the City's and the Village of Menomonee Falls' share of the costs of the projects; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That separate Common Council action will be required to authorize funding for right-of-way acquisitions and construction.
