Analysis

This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and

Whereas, Additional funds must be authorized to undertake the following improvements:

7th Aldermanic District

W. Meinecke Ave. - N. 30th St. to a point 314 feet m/l west of N. 30th St. (SM495000108) File Number 001350:  Combined sewer relay. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $255,000)

16th Aldermanic District

W. State St. - N. 35th St. to point west of N. Hawley Rd. (ST32090210) File Number 001435:  Concrete pavement reconstruction, replace all curb and gutter, replace sidewalk and driveway approaches where needed, sodding, and grading. (Nonassessable State Aid Fund -- $90,000); and

Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:

S. 16th St. - W. Dakota St. to W. Manitoba St. (SW170010102) File Number 990530: Expansion of the capacity of the storm sewer. (Nonassessable Expansion of Capacity Sewer Fund -- $1,072,000)

W. Manitoba St. - S. 15th Pl. to S. 16th St. (SW170010101) File Number 990530: Expansion of the capacity of the storm sewer. (Nonassessable Expansion of Capacity Sewer Fund -- $956,000)

8th and 14th Aldermanic Districts

S. 6th St. - W. Harrison Ave. to W. Cleveland Ave. (SM495010500) File Number 991919:  Relay combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $130,000)

; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
