Title

Substitute ordinance to further amend the 2006 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service under control of the Common Council.

 

Analysis

This substitute ordinance amends the rates of pay for the following: Department of Administration, Department of City Development, Mayor’s Office, Department of Public Works - Administrative Services Division; Department of Public Works -Operations Division-Sanitation Division (Local #61, LIUNA, AFL-CIO, CLC).

 

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1. Section 2 of ordinance File Number 050456 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2006 - January 1, 2006):

 

Under Salary Grade 001, delete the title “Human Resources Assistant.”

 

Under Salary Grade 010, add the title “Emergency Government Coordinator.”

 

Under Salary Grade 012, add the titles “Assistant Planning Director” and “Environmental Sustainability Director.”

 

Part 2. Section 5 of ordinance File Number 050456 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2006 - January 1, 2006):

 

Under Pay Range 410, in the paragraph referring to 2006 rates of pay for employees represented by Local 61, LIUNA, delete the fourth step of $1,162.03 biweekly and substitute $1,162.07.

 

Under Pay Range 460, add footnote designation “3/” following the title “Personnel Payroll Assistant III” and add footnote "3/” to read as follows: “The positions in the Department of Public Works-Administrative Services Division shall be eligible to receive one additional step in the amount of $1,652.55 biweekly ($42,966 annually).”

 

Part 3. Section 8 of ordinance File Number 050456 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2006 - January 1, 2006):

 

Under Pay Range 550, add the titles “Human Resources Assistant” and “Program Assistant III.”

 

 Part 4. Section 16 of ordinance File Number 050456 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2005 - December 19, 2004):

 

Under Pay Range 740, add footnote designation “2/” after the title “Sanitation Worker” and add footnote “2/” to read as follows: “Effective Pay Period 1, 2005, Sandra Smith and Joseph DeLeon, when working as a Sanitation Worker, shall be paid at the rates consistent with Pay Range 741 in fiscal years 2005 and 2006. Effective Pay Period 1, 2007, when working as a Sanitation Worker, they shall be frozen at their rates of pay that were consistent with Pay range 741 in 2006, until such time the maximum biweekly pay rate of the Sanitation Worker classification equals or exceeds that amount, at which time they will be eligible to receive general pay increases.”

 

Part 5.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Part 6. The provisions of Part 4 of this ordinance are deemed to have been in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2005 (December 19, 2004).

 

The provisions of Parts 1, 2, 3, of this ordinance are deemed to have been in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2006 (January 1, 2006).

 

Part 7.  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
