Title

A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2025 offices and positions in the City Service.

 

Analysis

This substitute ordinance changes the offices and positions in the following departments:

Department of Administration (Office of the Director), Comptroller’s Office, Election Commission, Department of Emergency Communications, Employes’ Retirement System, Fire Department, Health Department (Clinical Services Division, Environmental Health Division), Municipal Court, Police Department, Department of Public Works - Operations Division (Fleet Services Section)

 

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 240765 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

 

Under Health Department, Clinical Services Division, amend footnotes (LPHP) and (WWP) as follows:

 

(LPHP)                      To expire June 30, 2026 unless the Public Health Emergency Preparedness grant is extended.

 

(WWP)                      To expire June 30, 2026 unless the Wisconsin Well Woman Program grant is extended.

 

Under Health Department, Environmental Health Division, amend footnotes (CRI) and (PHEP) as follows:

 

(CRI)                                           To expire 6/30/2026 unless the Cities Readiness Initiative grant is extended.

 

(PHEP)                      To expire June 30, 2026 unless the Public Health Emergency Preparedness grant is extended.

 

Under Department of Public Works - Operations Division, Fleet Services Section, Dispatch Operations, add one position of “Office Assistant IV”.

 

Under Fleet Store Rooms, delete one position of “Program Assistant I”.

 

Part 2.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 240765 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows: (Effective Pay Period 1, 2023 - December 25. 2022):

 

Under Fire Department, Support Services Bureau, Administration Division, delete one position of “Fire Captain” and add one position of “Fire Contract Administrator”.

 

Part 3.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 240765 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows: (Effective Pay Period 1, 2025 - December 22, 2024):

 

Under Comptroller, Revenue and Cost Division, delete the name “Revenue and Cost Division” and replace with “Grant Accounting Division”.

 

Under Health Department, Clinical Services Division, Well Women Initiatives, add footnote designation (E) to one position of “Public Health Educator II - Bilingual (X)(WWP)” and add new footnote (E) to read:

 

(E)                      Position is designated as bilingual.

 

Part 4.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 240765 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows: (Effective Pay Period 15, 2025 - July 6, 2025):

 

Under Department of Administration, Office of the Director, delete one position of “Administrative Specialist Senior” and add one position of “Training and Development Coordinator”.

 

Under Election Commission, Permanent Staff, delete one position of “Voter Outreach and Education Coordinator (X)” and add one position of ”Voter Engagement Coordinator (X)”; delete one position of “Election Operations and Training Manager (X)” and add one position of “Election Operations Manager (X)”.

 

Under Employes’ Retirement System, delete one position of “Employes’ Retirement System Operations Director (Y)” and add one position of “ERS Human Resources Administrator”.

 

Under Municipal Court, Cash Control and Accounting, delete one position of “Court Accounting Assistant - Senior” and add one position of “Accounting Coordinator II”.

 

Under Police Department, Facilities Services Section, delete three positions of “City Laborer” and add three positions of “Police Facilities Laborer”.

 

Part 5.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Part 6.  The provisions of Part 2 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2023 (December 25, 2022).

 

Part 7.  The provisions of Part 3 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2025 (December 22, 2024).

 

Part 8.  The provisions of Part 4 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 15, 2025 (July 6, 2025).

 

The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.

 

Part .  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
