Substitute ordinance to further amend the 1998 offices and positions in the City Service under control of the Common Council.
BODY:
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 1 of ordinance File Number 970831 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under "Health Department, Public Health Services Decision Unit, Chronic Disease Division", add one position of "Health Project Coordinator-Tobacco Use Prevention Program (X)" and under "Consumer Protection and Environmental Health Decision Unit, Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Grant (W)", delete one position of "Environmental Field Supervisor (X)" and add one position of "Lead Project Inspection Supervisor (X)."
Under "Police Department", create footnote "(N)" as follows: "Milwaukee Metropolitan Drug Enforcement Grant: Four Office Assistant II positions to expire 12/31/98 unless The Milwaukee Metropolitan Drug Enforcement Grant is extended."
Under "Department of Public Works-Infrastructure Division, Construction Decision Unit, Laboratory Operations", delete one position of "Testing Laboratory Specialist (X)" and add one position of "Inspection Specialist (X)."
Part 2. Section 1 of ordinance File Number 970831 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby further amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 23, 1997 - November 2, 1997):
Under "Department of Public Works-Buildings and Fleet Division, Operations Section, Auxiliary Positions", add eight positions of "Snow Operator-Light" and 39 positions of "Snow Operator-Heavy."
Part 3. Section 1 of ordinance File Number 970831 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby further amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 6, 1997 - March 9, 1997):
Under "Department of Public Works-Water Works, Distribution Division Decision Unit", delete two positions of "Water Maintenance Mechanic" and add two positions of "Equipment Mechanic III."
Part 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Part 5. The provisions of Part 2 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 23, 1997 (November 2, 1997).
The provisions of Part 3 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 6, 1997 (March 9, 1997).
The provisions of all other parts of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after the first day of the first pay period following passage and publication.
Part 6. This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
