- Analysis -

This resolution will authorize the Commissioner of Public Works to execute contracts with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to install or modify traffic control facilities in conjunction with various paving related improvement projects and to install or modify those facilities upon execution of those contracts, the costs of which will be included in future resolutions.

BODY:

Whereas, The Common Council previously adopted Resolution File Number 930068 on June 15, 1993, authorizing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute agreements for the programming and construction of the following Highway Improvement Projects:

Aldermanic District Project Location

10 West Fond du Lac Avenue, N. 36th Street to W. Capitol Drive

7, 17 West Lisbon Avenue, W. Appleton Avenue to N. 46th Street

8 South Layton Boulevard, W. National Avenue to W. Evergreen Lane

8, 16 South Layton Boulevard, W. Lincoln Avenue to W. National Avenue

and,

Whereas, Preliminary engineering and plan preparation for these projects are scheduled; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works (CPW) is hereby authorized and directed to execute contracts with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation pertaining to their cost participation for the installation and/or modification of traffic control facilities in conjunction with the improvements of the above projects; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the CPW is hereby authorized and directed to install the traffic control facilities necessary in conjunction with the above projects, following the execution of the traffic control contracts, the costs of which will be included in future resolutions.
