Analysis

This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable.  After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council.  The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $165,000 with the total cost estimated to be $1,426,000.

Body

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:

6th Aldermanic District

W. Chambers St. - N. 5th St. to N. 6th St. (WT410071086):  Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000)  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $100,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

8^th and 10^th Aldermanic Districts

Install concrete traffic calming devices (ST211060182):  at the following locations: S. 25^th St. - W. Lapham St. to W. Orchard St., S. 26^th St. - W. Hayes Ave. to W. Lincoln Ave., and N. 52^nd St. - W. Vliet St. to W. Washington Blvd. The total cost of this project is $16,000. This project is anticipated to be completed in 2006.

11th Aldermanic District

S. Honey Creek Dr. - S. 60th St. to W. Coldspring Rd. (WT410071402):  Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000)  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $185,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

W. Leroy Ave. - S. 54th St. to W. Honey Creek Dr. (WT410071409):  Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000)  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $150,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

W. Plainfield Ave. - S. 54th St. to S. 55th St. (WT410071404):  Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000)  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $40,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

W. Plainfield Ave. - S. 55th St. to S. 60th St. (WT410071401):  Relaying water main.  (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000)  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $240,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

S. 54th St. - W. Plainfield Ave. to W. Leroy Ave. (WT410071405):  Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000)  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $125,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

S. 55th St. - W. Plainfield Ave. to W. Coldspring Rd. (WT410071406):  Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $190,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

S. 55th St. - W. Waterford Ave. to W. Plainfield Ave. (South) (WT410071403):  Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $90,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

S. 56th St. - W. Plainfield Ave. to W. Leroy Ave. (WT410071407):  Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $125,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

S. 57th St. - W. Plainfield Ave. to W. Leroy Ave. (WT410071408):  Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000)  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $125,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

Greenfield

West Forest Home Ave. at S. 68th St. (WT410071410):  Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000)  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $40,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
