Analysis

This ordinance:

1. Repeals a provision of the code requiring a public passenger vehicle owner to file with the city clerk a certified copy of each affiliation agreement with a dispatch service or organization under which the vehicle is operated.  This ordinance makes no changes to provisions requiring vehicle owners to report to the city clerk any affiliations with dispatch services or organizations under which vehicles are operated and any changes thereto.

2.  Establishes that any public passenger vehicle driver’s license holder who fails to apply for renewal prior to the expiration of the license period immediately following the license period for which his or her license was issued shall have the license terminated on its expiration date. Any application filed after the expiration date shall be considered a new license application and is subject to the requirements for an original license.
